Congratulations and big thanks to all the great writers who comment on other people’s essays. You don’t have to write a lot -  just a sentence or two is plenty!

Things you could say:

• “Paragraph Two is very clear”
• “Your conclusion is not very clear”
• “I really like your introduction”
• “Your conclusion is too long”
• “Your sentences are too long”
• “I love the sentence about “XXXXXXX”
• “Here’s a rewrite for your sentence:  “……..”

Don’t worry too much about spelling. Everybody has a spellchecker and they can use it for themselves.  But if you see someone has a problem with verb tenses or always uses the passive or doesn’t check subject-verb agreement (‘he go’ or ‘they lives’) then just mention it! You will be really helping!

But you don't have to be a grammar expert. If someone's essay is just too long, or too confusing, or too short, or if some ideas need reorganizing, or if they just need more ideas, they need to know. Again, you will be really helping!
