There is a continuing migration from the countryside to urban areas in most countries of the world.

"It is more important for governments to ensure adequate standards of housing, education and health care for their citizens by developing the industrial base than to use their resources to develop rural areas."

Nowadays development of cities is very controversial topic among citizens. Should we continue to ensure our cities advance whether to invest resources and money in order to aid to development of villages and towns. This essay will examine both sides of arguments.

The one significant problem is absence of money for rural areas. This results in lack of job vacancies, thus people are forced to migrate to city where they can find a job. Furthermore, lack of finances results in deficit of basic facilities and services in countryside such as shops, hospitals or at least ambulatory. Rural area inhabitants are constantly nervous, in fear of their health. If person is hit by stroke, he must receive professional medical help immediately and without it the patient would be left to perish.

On the contrary, government makes the right decision in investing to city. Their judges are based on opinion that they use finances for majority not for several thousands of minority in countryside. It is worth to note that cities have many problems. Firstly, congestions and air pollution results in investing to road networks, public transport and various regulations to prevent city environment from collapsing. These problems take up huge amount of money from the budget and is spent on improving standard of living. Secondly, authorities are responsible to ensure stable employment opportunities for which another bulk of money is used to maintain equilibrium in job vacancies.

My conclusion is that even though cities are important to govern properly and majority of finances is spent on maintaining balance in city, rural areas must not be forgotten and at least basic facilities must be built.
