Universities should accept equal numbers of the male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.
Nowadays, increasingly amount of individuals attend university due to the educational improvements. However, whether male and female students should be enrolled in same proportion has provoked the topic of discussion. This essay will discuss both sides and give my own perspective.
Some individuals believe that colleges should accept students equally which rely on gender. Women rights keep improving in recent years, and gender equality has demanded across the world. As a democratic society, universities should give the same opportunity to the opposite gender. Enhancing study efficiency is another advantage. Most students like perform themselves in the presence of their different sex classmates. They are striving for marvelous results particularly in study. In addition, females are able to have the same possibility compare with their male counterparts when they looking for jobs. Frequently, women cannot find a career as good as men. If this policy executes, the society would be much more balanced.
However, other people insist that recruiting same number of students in each major is unreasonable. Women and men are savvy in different fields. For instance, males are good at sciences, while females proficient in liberal studies. Furthermore, the choice of the subject is the privilege of students; therefore, authorities and schools should not involve in this regard. Consolidating the percentage of students in certain number is hegemonic. Students allocate in same figures led to inequitable as well. Be it female or male students, universities should base on score and capacity rather than gender.
To conclude, there are both good reasons for and against whether schools accept same amount of students according to gender. As far as I am concerned, universities should not distribute students in gender. College students are adults, they are able to make their own decisions.
