(0 votes) Some countries invest in specialized training centers for top athletes rather than in public sports facilities. Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?
It is widely accepted that sports are of vital importance in modern society and governments pay much more attention to sports facilities. I believe that it would be better to invest in public sports facilities than specialized training centre.
One reason to highlight the importance of public sports facilities is that as citizens. We are entitled to all kinds of public services, including these. It is government’s responsibility to ensure the well-being of its people. Public sports facilities are essential to people nowadays as a mounting number of citizens develop hobbies related to sports. If public sports facilities are available for people, they can have more opportunities to do exercise because of the convenience and the low expenditure. Conversely, if there are only specialized training centers that public lack access to, then tax payers’ money is spent on things they cannot use, which is remarkably unjustifiable.
Some people insist that specialized training centers are more crucial because we need to provide top athletes with top-notch equipments so they have more chances to win in some international sports events, which is significant to some people. They claim it can raise the nation’s reputation. That’s true. But the spirit of sports is far more than that. It is not only about competition, but also participatation. Sport is not a tool to earn reputation, but what can bring people happiness. So specialized training centers are not enough. We need public sports facilities that enable average citizens to play sports and enjoy sports.
In conclusion, we need specialized training centers for top athletes can get better training, but we need more public sports facilities for citizens deserve these. So governments should invest more in these facilities for the welfare of the nation.

Offlinenice writing skills 🙂 I am impressed. I have mentioned below certain additional points which you can add in your essay.
public sports facilities:
1) Public at large will have access on the other hand specialized training limited to few people.
2) It will motivate people to opt for sports as career because when sports facilities available to public at large than only they will use it and develop an interest.
Specialized training:
1) better performance in games played at International level - e.g. more medals in Olympics and USA is best e.g.
2) concentrate on those who have opted for sports as career so optimum utilization of facilities.
Best of luck with your preparation.
