Some people dismiss science fiction or fantasy as a purely juvenile form of amusement, an escape from problems and issues in the real world. Referring to one or more particular books, movies, or television programs, explain why you agree or disagree with this observation.

Some people say that science fiction or fantasy is cheap novels, merely entertain daydreamers. However, Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. By fostering humanity’s immense imagination and creativity, science fiction or fantasy vigorously is not always for amusing.

Science fiction or fantasy is nurturing imagination of its readers or audiences. It mythicizes stories about ideal characters and by using appealable words. It urges numerous following to have various ways to look at an event; alternatively, they could choose to be a part of that consciousness or create a new one. Albert Einstein’s concept “thinking like a child", which allowed him to understand the universe in profound ways, is an example.

On the other hand, science fiction and fantasy, which are a foundation of dreams, express creativity and ideas. Without the dream of flying into the sky, will Wilbur brothers have any ideas to make a plane? Human is ambitious, dreaming nourishes ambition which propel them make dreams come true. Invisibility Cloak, which is operated by scientists, is no longer product of fantasy and science fiction anymore.

It is not an escape from problems and issues in the real world; it expresses humanity’s hope and dreams. Some stories, which stem from legend and fairy tale stories, usually base on an ancient belief of a culture. Doreamon, which is a Japanese comic book, is about a clumsy boy and a robot cat which always helps the boy with its miracle device. Indeed, time machine is a device which impacts most of its reader’s aspiration enthusiastically. With a time machine, humanity envisions a future in which they can come back time and redress mistake, reunite with beloved deceased friends or acquaintances.

To sum up, science fiction and fantasy are not utterly cheap novels for entertaining but enriching your imagination, inspiring you to bring dreams into life. Finally, remember that “Imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions” - Albert Einstein.

Alice, thanks for these essays. I hope that some people will add a few comments.

However, it's not really a good idea to upload essays without helping others, and it's not really a good idea to upload many essays at the same time. How will you be able to improve?

It's far better to upload ONE essay, wait for some comments, perhaps comment on some other people's essays,  and then (the most important part) learn from the comments of others.

Take your time. Digest the comments, respond, and then, once you have put the new ideas into practice, upload another essay which will almost certainly be significantly better than the first one.

Also, most of the essays here are IELTS-style - it's very unlikely that you will have to do a literature analysis e.g. on science fiction with reference to a particular book or movie.

Can I also point out that you did not respond to any of the comments Anufrancis and I made on your first essay here. Did you agree? Disagree? Did you even notice the time we spent? I doubt that people will comment again if they did not receive any response the first time.  I certainly won't.

On another point, when you upload an essay, can you please write a SHORT title which summarizes the question. It's good that you include the question in the actual essay, but it will help visitors to the site if you write a short (5-10 word) question in the Topic Title box.

Hello Alice,

I tried to read your essay and found out some problem along with it. Have you study any of other model essays before you did yours? Are you familiar with the rules? I don't think you meet the test request. Maybe you should review more details of the requirement from the offical website first.

oh, writefix, I post many topics at a same time because I have written all of these for a long time. I practice writing everyday, so I have a new essay everyday 😀 please, forgive me, if I do something wrong 😀

Some people say that science fiction or fantasy is cheap novels, merely entertain daydreamers. However, Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. Obviously, science fiction or fantasy are not for amusing; they foster humanity’s immense imagination and creativity; they present for dream and hope of the mankind.

shieiuan I wrote it again, please check it for me 😀 thanks a lot 😉
