Topic: Some people think that to have a successful life you have to have university education, while others think it’s not that important. Discuss both views and give your opinion based on personal experience and knowledge.
The relative importance of higher education is a frequent topic of discussion when people try to explain the reasons that contribute to one’s success. While some people contend that university education is an indispensable part to personal attainments, others believe its importance has been overestimated. There are fair arguments on both sides, I will examine the two positions and present my own views.
It is an undeniable fact that tertiary-level education provides youngsters competitive advantages, in terms of theoretical knowledge, practical skills. To begin with, with well-structured courses, highly sophisticated professors, systematic teaching methods and a wide range of facilities and resources, university students are able to gain in-depth knowledge, which they are interested, in an efficient and effective way. Besides this, students can cultivate many useful skills during their university life. Thinking critically and independently, for example, gives students the ability to analyze situations and make important decisions objectively regarding future life. In addition, a successful person should be an expert in dealing with people and circumstances. University education, in particular, not only improves students social and communication skills, but also problem solving skills for conflict situations.
However, it is also indisputable that many other factors have profound influences on one’s success. Amongst those factors, personal characteristics and mental abilities play a pivotal role. Life will not always go smoothly and people may be confronted with pressures, failures, disappointments. At these moments, it is a person’s characteristics or mental abilities, such as determination, passion and hardworking, that keeps them fighting those adversities and to reach their goals.
To sum up, my opinion is that it is convincing that higher education assists youngster, in aspects of specialized knowledge, skills and employment opportunities, to be successful. Nevertheless, internal attributes like personal characteristics and mental abilities are relatively more important. Therefore I believe they are the ultimate forces that drive people towards success.

You are very good at writing essay. However, in the present essay you are in favor of University education is not that important but you failed to justify it properly. In these types of essay where you have to check pros and cons you are required to give equal weightage when writing about advantages of both the sides which you failed to. Rest is fine and I am sure next time you will score 7 🙂
