There are many differences between” living in a small town” and “living in a big city”. There are some advantage and disadvantage of people who live in a small city and who live in a big city and compare these to each others. For instance, number of population, hospital and school, crime and job.
People who live in a small town have some advantage for instance, they have less population than big city moreover, there is less crime more than big city. Because they have less population and also they have job and enough money for living in that city also the young people who were married live with parents therefore they don’t think about luxurious.
But there are some disadvantages about living in a small city, like number of school and hospital. When people who live in a small city need to modern facility and hospital for cure they have to go to a big city because they don’t have enough modern facility or cure. In addition when the children continue education in higher level they have to immigrate to a big city for continue education and obtain good social position. But people who live there are more satisfied more than people live in a big city.
The problem of living in big city are the number of population is so a lot and the luxurious is so huge therefore, people is not satisfied about job, style and place of life and job because of these problem and dissatisfaction there are more crimes than small town. Although living in a big city has lots of problem has some advantages like, modern hospital, the number of school and university. Living in a big city is more comfortable than small town because there is more modern facilitates than small town like modern hospital, modern shopping center, more entertainments and activities more than small city. But people who live there are less satisfied more than people live in a small city.
Thus, if government in near future support small town about more activities than now and also make them modern hospital and school they live in their own cities and don’t move at all moreover who people that moved because of this kind of problem move the cities there fore the population of big city become less than now.

I was just wondering I thought when we write argumentative essay we describe both sides if the question is some People agree /other people disagree.but if the question is do you agree or disagree then you write 3 paragraph on either agree or disagree according to you. Or is it we write both and the give our opinion in the conclusion in all cases this is easier but does it cover the topic.
Please reply an hanks in advnce

    Hi Fatima

Thanks for your question. It all depends on the question, really. I would recommend that you don’t worry too much – just go ahead and write. But if the question clearly says “give both sides” or “explain both points of view” then of course you have to do both.

Even if it is very strongly in favor of one side, a well-written essay will always mention something about the other side.

For example, it will have phrases like

“While it is true that X has some help some people, …”
“Admittedly, X can be very useful when… However,…”
“Obviously, we cannot ignore the advantages of X. However,”

But the most important thing is that your ideas are fully developed!

At the moment, the forum is closed, so we are not able to take questions. I hope the links below are helpful. It all depends on the question: it’s not a yes-or-not situation!

Hello, friendls. My essay needs to be checked,if you can show my mistakes I will be happy. Thanks a lot

In many countries today insufficient respect is shown to older people.

What do you think may be the reasons for this?

What problems might cause in society? 30

As we live in highly developed technologically period it is inevitable factor not to see the traces of this development in every field of our life. Admittedly, it is sure to leave traces in attitude toward elderly people, too . As a result of it we observe much less respect of youngsters to elderly ones . However, in earlier period the situation was likely to be vice versa.

In the first hand, technology is sure to be encouraging the young to become more involved in themselves. According to psychologists the major factor that enforces this process to some extent is the young’s being plugged in to Ipods and their mobile phones. But in former generation it was sure to have a good communication between the young and elderly people. Asking for an advice was a courtesy that seems to have been lost between these two generations now. Today’s youngsters seem to make their decisions themselves and stand on their foot.As they think the elder are not enough able to understand and appreciate their desire and ambitions and they avoid asking them to give a tip.115-6

The key to solve this matter and remove the gap between the two generation is to teach children sense of respect to elderly ones from childhood. However the period of time that two generations lived in is sure to be different and it can lead to conflicts. In my opinion both the young and the elder should avoid all misunderstanding the former showing his respect, the latter trying to understand new requirements and viewpoint of present time. 73

In conclusion, I want to shift my attention to the fundamental rule of our life that leads all human beings to get old. As we know one day we will be in the place of elderly people we should feel responsibility in order to show our honour to them and pass this precious common courtesy to posterity. There is such an adage, as you sow, so you shall reap.

The graph shows the fluctuations in the number of people at the London underground station in the course of the day.

the busiest times of the day is in the morning and early in the evening. There is a significant increase in the number of commuters beginning 6 AM and this peaks at 8 o’clock with 400 passengers. This pattern is repeated in the late afternoon starting from 4 PM to 6 o’clock in the evening. In contrast to the morning rush, the highest crowd numbers only around 375.

It should also be noted that there are no abrupt changes in the number of folks at the station during midday. There is approximately 200 to 300 foot traffic in the area between 11 AM to 3 o’clock.

Overall, the daily commuter activity at this British railway station varies in degrees depending on the time. The highest activities occur in the morning and in the late afternoons.

Just curious as to what your credentials are. As a 7-12 English teacher for almost 45 years, I have taught students to avoid the following in conclusions for academic papers: “I agree,” “In conclusion,” “I think,” “In summary.” If you check your reliable pedagogical sites, you will find that they too discourage this type of writing.
Students learning English should be taught the right way, not the easy way. I had to “unlearn” bad teaching with many of my ESL students.

Dear writefix, thank you so much. Your website has made writing argumentative/opinion essays extremely clear to me. However, I am finding it hard to use this knowledge in writing descriptive essays. Is it possible for you to breakdown descriptive and narrative essays in the same way? I would really appreciate a quick response. Thank you
